Sparrow

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I got this capture this morning in the first few minutes of sunrise of what I think is a golden-crowned sparrow on the top of a pine tree.

Specific Feedback

Cropping okay? I can barely notice a bit of a lighter color in the upper RH corner. Does it need to go? It doesn’t bother me. Curious.

Must have been a sunny morning, Dave, as the light looks a bit harsh as early as it was. I think you’re probably right on the ID, though it’s hard to differentiate Golden-crown and White-crowned from this angle. It looks as if there’s green reflecting off the tree onto the breast of the bird which is interesting. I do wish the bird had given you a better head turn.
