Spicebush Swallowtail on Cardinal Flower

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

My Cardinal Flowers have been blooming for several weeks, yet didn’t seem to be attracting any attention beyond hoverflies. In the last few days I have seen them visited by hummingbirds and this Spicebush Swallowtail.

Specific Feedback

I have several shots, but chose this one because it both had a good look at the Swallowtail and nice color from the Flower.

Technical Details

Mark: Beautiful BF and really good handling of the blacks in the wings. We have had few swallowtails of any kind in the past several years and probably more than ten years since I’ve seen a spicebush even though we have host plants and nectar plants galore. A tiny bit more room on the bottom is the only thing that could make this better for me. Nicely done, especially for a single capture  >=))>
