Description

Another bird introduced to Hawaii from Asia. I like how the purple petals provide a tropical feel to the photo.

Interesting bird, Allen. The frame is a bit tight for my taste, but I don’t know what you had to contend with around the edges.

Cool looking bird Allen. The flower petals add another point of interest as you mention. Wondering about a lower shooting angle but I know that is not always possible.

Had to laugh at this comment. I took the shot from the lanai of our third story condo.

Countering all claims that doves are dumb  . Wonderful species to shoot from the third floor  . Cheers. Hans

At least you got some color mixed in with the grass. That’s always been my issue with photographing in Hawaii. Yes the birds are more approachable when there are on the grass. But when we get older, it’s a lot harder to lie in our bellies and take those Properly angled shots. But this is a fun bird and one I’ve never seen before.

Seems like this is the time of year for posting invasive birds from Hawaii Allen. This is a really nice look at the spots and feathers on the spotted dove. I too really like the extra colors from the petal fall.
