A scene in Lyme Park, Cheshire, an old country estate on the edge of moorland, with many fine trees that often stand alone on a rise.

Ian, I like this immediately as I saw the thumbnail. The tree towers above the rest of the scene. I really like how big it looks like compared to the other trees on the path. I might want just a sliver more room on the left but I am undecided. I really like it as presented as well. Beautiful light, too!

Ian, I love a ā€œless is moreā€ type of composition and this qualifies for me. The colors are handled beautifully and the whole scene has a very fresh spring season look to it.
As @Adhika_Lie mentioned I might also add a touch more room to the left of the tree, but that is a minor nit.

Well Done!

What a fantastic tree! I really like they way you composed this image. If you have relatively easy access to this locations, Iā€™d love to see a series of shots of this in different seasons, weather conditions, and times of day. As for this photo, I might use a brush to bring up the sunlit leaves to add a little definition in the foliage. Iā€™d also suggest doing some dust spot removal in the sky.

Beautiful Shot Ian. The light, composition and colors all work really well for me. I would remove the dust spots in the sky.

Wonderful very peaceful scene here, Ian. The tree is such a noble looking structure standing out there on this hillside. The pathway leading into the BG adds to the calm feeling of the spring time in the park feeling tooā€¦:+1:
The suggestion about bring the leaf exposure up a bit was a good idea I would think. Might be a real plus to the view of the tree overallā€¦

The composition is wonderful, Ian. As to bringing up the exposure on the leaves, I think that I would not so much do that as increase the contrast between foliage and moor. Perhaps that would require photographing at a different time of day, such that the foliage is bright relative to darker tones in the grass.

What a cool tree. Itā€™s almost animate, as though bowing to the right. I also wouldnā€™t add space on the left. Thereā€™s an implied interaction between the tree and the road due to itā€™s placement. Itā€™s quite interesting.

Ian, I like the wide open feeling this image creates. And I Iove how the composition creates a relationship between the large foreground tree and the smaller trees and road in the distance. I agree with @Igor_Doncov about not adding space to the left for the reason he stated. My only nit is that there 5 or 6 large dust spots in the upper left corner that should be cloned away.

Ian, an intriguing contrast to the view of this tree posted in WC and above. The balance of tree and road look good here. It definitely speaks of spring. I too would like a bit more space to the left of the tree

Ian,

A grand tree indeed and how itā€™s perched, itā€™s like the overseer of the land. I think the inclusion of the roadway and trees on the right is a plus - despite taking up such little space.

Speaking of space, my only nitpick would be for a tad more room on the the left. Otherwise, quite a lovely scene and image.
