Dear NPN friends, looong time I did not post. Hope I’ll be able to be more active from now on.
Just a spring storm over the Mediterranean Sea along the coast of Liguria (Italy), during a heavy-rain week. This image is a bit different from what I did in the past - going for minimalism here, and not so much saturation. Is this too minimal? Curious and happy to know your reactions…

Glad to see you posting again. You have to open the large version to really appreciate this image. This type of image is definitely worth doing IMO and no it is not to cold. I love the minimalistic aspect of this image as well as the cool blue tones. IMO the clouds as well as the blue tones impart a somber mood to this scene. Very nicely done. I hope to see more of your work as well as your critiques of others.

I love this for that simplicity. One very strong feature here is the near abscence of a horizon. I love how the squall isn’t really defined at the horizon, and somehow the ocean just bleeds right in to the storm - OR, one think how the water is actually feeding the storm. Not sure if that makes sense.
I love this as presented - again, very simple yet powerful. No nits and really the only suggestion I can think of might be to play around with the contrast in the clouds… but again this works beautifully as presented.

Excellent image to showcase your return. I think the minimalism is what this image exceptional IMHO. A good name for it would be “The Endless.” The sea seems to blend into the sky.
