Love snakes!
A common garter snake
Lots of snakes and other wildlife here. It’s roasting in the day (100+ the last week), then cools down to the 40’s at night.
This causes the snakes to seek out warm rocks for the night, and they are quite cold and lethargic in the morning. This one was too chilled to even flick his tongue.

Sandy! Snakes are right up there on my top 100 favourite animal list.

What a gorgeous snake this is. By his appearance I wouldn’t be playing with him, but Google has told me the snake is non venomous…still not a reason to play with him. You’ve caught a terrific pose showing off the lovely yellow dorsal scales.

I chased garter snakes all over my neighborhood as I grew up. Love them. This looks like a fairly large one. I like the comp, the position of the snake and the way he/she’s curled up. Well done.

Great subject beautifully coiled !
I may reduce the greens and darken them too.
