Stellar

Taken yesterday in my garden. Yes, the greens could be desaturated a bit but I think the plumage is pretty realistic. My only wish is that the perch had been in complete focus.

this lens is the last camera purchase I made. I’m finding that as I get older even my 400 mm F2 .8 is too heavy to drag around and this 200-600 Sony lens is over 2 pounds lighter. I’m always afraid that Zoom is knocking to be as sharp as a prime and while the 400 is outrageously sharp, any concerns I have about the 200 to 600 were answered by the quality plumage resolution of this image.

A gorgeous image of the Steller’s Jay, David. I love the head turn and the rich greens work well with the intense blues of the bird. While it would be nice to have the rail all in focus, better it than the bird.

A bird that has eluded me . The blues are nice and rich. The jay is tack sharp and I hardly noticed the perch. You could even do a vertical crop for a portrait if so desired. Well done…Jim
