I ran across this remnant of an old tree that a pair of Cormorants were using on Padre Island National Seashore in the spring of 2017. Given the hurricane later that year, I suspect it was moved a considerable distance.
I wished for a more dramatic sky, but it was essentially an early morning haze layer.
A great pair of snags, with decorations, Dennis. The simplicity of the subject and the action in the water make a very dynamic shot.

This is great, Dennis! I love the shape of the limbs, the dynamic waves stopped in action and the birds are excellent. All around real fine image.

Great drama and action and while quite different from Ed’s sunrise image, there is a commonality with an old tree standing out in the surf. Amazing. The cormorants are a big plus.
