What changed: I applied a 4x3 crop to remove the sawed off part of the log as suggested in the feedback to the original image. I also cloned out the lower end of one of the strands as it originally extended past the edge of the frame.

About This Image
I decided for this week’s challenge on Quiet Movement to include a photo where there is no movement at all. In this case the motion is implied, as the very slow movement of the sap dripping off this log created these strands frozen in time.
Feedback Requested
Does this image fit with this week’s theme? Do you agree that this image wouldn’t exist if not for slow movement over time? I would appreciate any thoughts about this. Thanks.

Other notes:
I like it, Ted, and I suspect those drips are still very slowly moving. Personally,l I’d crop this to remove the sawed off stub on the left as it tends to mess with the left to right flow of the log, though some of the drips in front of it are interesting. Very well done.
Wow @Ted_Forman ! It wasn’t until I read Dennis’s comment about the sawn off log. At first glance, I thought it was a cave and some other unusual feature in rock. I don’t mind it being there at all, but maybe if it was whole and not so hard against the edgte. What a great find! And, very well captured.
Such an intriguing image Ted. The resin strands almost read like textile threads. Even the log has its own striations. A simple but very effective intimate scene.
Ted, the resin strands are outstanding…what a fine find. The have a fine variety of shapes and colors. I am having mixed feelings about the sawed off branch, so I wonder how cropping to 5x7 or 4x5 would look.
