Sturm und Drang

We often think of storms as being at sea but many aren’t. Taken a few years ago, I remember this vividly. Alex and I were hurrying to get over the pass before they closed the road when I came upon this scene. In the summer this is an inviting meadow but on this trip it had the ferocity of a winter storm. And I loved every minute of it.

I am enjoying this one quite a bit, Igor. It is a subtle composition that works quite well for me. My only thought is to perhaps clone out the trees along the right edge, providing a margin of snow and horizon matching (and balancing) the left side? I like it a lot as presented, but that may take it up a notch further for me.

I will echo @Harley_Goldman’s comments. The bush makes for some nice FG interest also.

Igor, this has an outstanding “dark and stormy” mood, with the limited tonality and dark sky. The foreground bush makes a fine foil for the line of trees.
