This past summer I went out a lot in search of bucks with velvet, which is something that I don’t have a lot of in my portfolio. Just outside of town, I happened upon a bachelor group of 3 or 4 Mule Deer bucks grazing in a canola field. It was some of the craziest golden light I’ve photographed in. I decided to go with a more animalscape view and leave him smaller in the frame so you can see the canola field fade into the sky. I also like how you can see the windmills in the background (though barely).

Gorgeous. I don’t know how I feel about the windmill or the top 1/3 of the image. I feel like it could be a stronger image if the entire frame is filled with canola.

Nice, Jenaya. The bottom half is the strongest part of the image, but I also kind of like how I can lose focus and just see these abstract layers of golden tones stacked on top of each other. It reminds me of a custard dessert. Maybe title it “Flan”? :wink:
