Sweet Success

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Costa Rica
This little rufous-naped wren was singing sweetly in the rain. After a few minutes, a cute little curious female flew into a nearby tree, and they took off happily together.

Specific Feedback

Is this too centered? The area to the left was under a tree, and the raindrops were very sparse, so I chose to center the bird.
Too much of the stump? I loved the stuff on it.

Excellent signing pose, Sandy. This composition works for me. Depending on how you wanted to use the image, I think it would stand up to quite a variety of aspect ratios.

Hi Sandy
I think I agree withDennis, nice work.

I love this little singer Sandy. Nice job catching the raindrops against that nice dark smooth BG. I know the post was probably at a slight angle, but you could do a little CW rotation and straighten it up just a bit.

Hi Sandy, very nice. Love the singing pose and the rain makes this quite a dynamic image. I’m fine with the composition given the constraints you mentioned. The perch adds another point of interest to me.

Tack sharp look at the wren. I like the perch and the rain adds to the image. Nice dark background. I could see a bit more room for the wren to look into.
