Description

Aythyla fuligula (Reiherente) swimming in an urban pond. Reflections of buildings are creating the colours on the water.

Specific Feedback

Is the grey line leading to the head distracting?

Technical Details

1/2000s. f:6,3. ISO 380. -2/3

Hi Armin. I don’t find any of the lines distracting. the dark bird contrasts well with the light and then the yellow eye draws me right to the bird. I can then set back and enjoy the colors in the rest of the image.

Question. Did you mean this for the weekly challenge of Urban Wildlife? If you let me know, I’ll add that tag.

Nicely composed Armin. I think the colors add to the story of urban wildlife. Fine details and great to see the prominent eye.

Dennis, please add the tag.
Thanks
Armin

Good look at the duck, Armin, and the colors in the water add interest to the image, as do the ripples.

The reflected colors add a lot to this fine look at this duck Armin. They also tell us that it’s swimming near human structures.

Beautiful duck in an equally beautiful pond. The ripples with the burnt gold and browns is just delightful. I’m not at all troubled by the lighter reflection leading to his head. It could go either way. An easy fix if you decided to remove it.

I’m thinking a slice off the top?

It’s a great image for the Weekly Challenge.
