Oh man – this isn’t quite the same flower but it triggered Tuberose to me, with its incredible scent! The lighting is super, as is the hint of color. The princess-and-the-pea in me would have picked off the wilting blossoms, but reality works OK here. Well done!

Thanks. Long exposure photography is a technique I need to work on. I want to learn how to do long exposure landscape images. Shooting this plant for a friend was good practice. I’m still pretty old school. Today’s camera are amazing. Just have fun and enjoy the art we all make. Peace to you and the Planet :pray::pray::earth_americas::pray:

If the intended audience was happy, that’s all that counts so congrats on that. However, the tight crop isn’t working for me on this one. I’d either like it coming in closer or farther - this seems arbitrary and accidental to me. It’s an interesting formation and looks hard to get good depth in without stacking which is presumably why you had to close down so much.

I didn’t crop this image in photoshop. Just the way I framed it. I did another shot just on the green part of the flower.
Thanks for showing interest. I’m not sure what stacking is. :pray::pray::camera_flash::pray:.
I’m learning and looking at images with tone. I’m learning about the Zone System.
Thanks again. :pray::camera_flash::camera_flash::camera_flash::camera_flash:

Beautiful. Perhaps a little room top and bottom, but that is my personal preference. What is important is whether your client is happy. Looks like a Hosta bloom. They begin to fade fairly quickly.

I tend to bleed things off to the sides of my images. Not always but I do like that look. Like you said it is just personal preference. Main goal was have the friend see the pedals with whites and grays. I showed how taking green down can make it different and show a new approach.
Thanks for showing interest. :pray::camera_flash::pray::pray:

Hi @Gill_Vanderlip! What a beautiful flower! I love the way you arranged the flower and its buds. The composition works well. I can see @Diane_Miller’s point about the wilted bud at the bottom, but it’s optional since it seems to blend into the image fairly well. Giving it some room at the top would let the flower breathe a bit. You can do this in Photoshop using the “generative expand” option with the crop tool. Just pull the crop tool up from the middle top. The border will expand the top and sides. Then look at the top of the frame, and you should see the “generative expand” option. Click on that, and voila! It should expand to give those petals a little breathing room. Hope this is helpful!

Thanks for showing interest. I’ll try that expand technique. Peace to you. :pray::earth_americas::pray:

Gill: I like the subdued color palette and the overall sharpness of the flower. I’ve been a tradition bound single capture guy for a long time but have just knuckled under and gotten into stacking. You might look at Helicon Focus software to get a feel for what’s available. For me this is a bit too tight as noted by some others. I’m also not sure what that little beige colored bit is near the tip of the left-most flower and I think I would make that go away. Still a very nice effort and capture of a very interesting flower. >=))>

Thanks. I’m learning more about the editing process as I go. Long exposure photography is my next goal. And learning how to use filters. I shot this image for a friend. My goal is making image videos with my music. I posted a video and the combination of both is the ultimate goal. Learning editing for the video and keep it interesting and simple.

Thanks for showing interest Really means a lot to me. Here at 72. Technology has given me and others a new way to communicate and express ourselves. :pray::camera_flash::pray:
