Sandy,
I think that perhaps reducing the saturation a bit and cropping some of the foreground out would improve the image.

I love sunset/sunrise photos! I really like the curve in the beach and the multiple colors in the sky. I agree with @gDan52, I would try reducing the saturation a little.

@gDan52 @elizabeth

Gary and Elizabeth - these are the true colours, but thanks for the comments

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.

Sandy: Having seen sunsets like this on the coast I do find it very believable. The one we had when I visited you and Jim was nowhere near this spectacular but still a fine display. I also like the beach “litter” and the reflected light on the driftwood. Nicely done. >=))>

What a treat to end Thanksgiving with. Do you get these much in the winter, or are they typically a late fall thing?

@John_Williams

Hi John, these spectacular sunsets are in the winter, when the sun is setting in the ocean. They’re a frequent treat we’ll never tire of.
Come on down and enjoy them with us! (seriously)

I need to work on that! I adore Samuel H. Boardman. In 2013 I caught this sunset at Secret, and I’ve always wanted to catch more from there. Your image is inspirational!

BTW, my almost five-year old grandson and I were on a car ride yesterday, and we were talking about Toucans. I new you had some in your feed, and so we killed a good portion of the ride looking through your wonderful images. He loved the variety, and I must say your portfolio is drool-worthy.

@John_Williams

Thank you!
I’m working on a Series of "Toucans of Central and South America " that I’ll post soon. One of my most favorite birds!

I can believe that. Even on the east coast, with the right conditions, the colors can be intense.
