The Dawn of a New Day

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

We stayed at one lodge in the Pantanal for 3 days, and found there was an isolated stork nest not far away. We all asked at once "Which way is East and West ?? "
We already knew the sky was turning red every evening at sunset, from the devastating southern Pantanal fires, I think we all envisioned a scene like this. This is one of MY versions.

In addition, I’d like to share a video I send around to friends yearly. “Auld Lang Syne” sung by Sissel, a Norweigan singer whom you may have not heard of, and who is very under-rated, imo. The video’s Nature, Animal, and Bird scenes are stunning and inspiring, and I hope they bring peace, hope, and optimism to whomever watches it.

I will put the link in the post below.

Happy New Year to everyone! I wish for each of you health, peace, inspiration, and creativity in the coming year, and the courage to face the tough things.

Sissel and Nature Video :

Excellent all around. Deserves to be hung on a wall. A well thought out composition. Thanks for sharing the video and Happy New Year to you and yours.

Lovely image Sandy. The sun coming up in the left lower corner tells a great story along with the stork and nest. Nice to see a bit of the stork colors to give context.

Happy New Year! I love how the sun is just moving up in the corner. And the video led me to her duet of “Solitaire” with Neil Sedaka - it’s spellbinding, even for the composer!

Beautiful image, Sandy. I really like the composition and the sunrise is gorgeous. Happy New Year to you as well.

@Mike_Friel
I love her voice. I think she would have been an international star, had she chosen to travel and perform often.

Wow Sandy. Beautiful color and excellent silhouette. Nice one.

Wow Sandy, you have ended the year with another great image. This is another one for the wall. To me the nest looks alive, like it’s a part of the tree. The colors in the sky are something else, like it was painted. I see this painted on the wall of a baby’s room. The composition is right on. A hint of color in the silhouette makes the Storke stand out.
I watched your video twice, Thanks for sharing it with us, she does have a GREAT voice.
And Thanks for all the images you have shared with us throughout the year. I look forward to seeing more of your images in the upcoming year. Be careful in your travels out there, wherever you find the shot.
THANKS again and I hope you and yours have a GREAT year.

Thanks, Skip - Happy New Year to you as well !

Thank you for the EP! This was one of my favorite images from the Brazil trip.

Really well done - colors perfect - can be challenging especially at sunrise or set
