The way the light came through the back of this bloom to light the stamens attracted me to try to photograph it.
Does the light bring out any emotions such as joy or pleasure?

This is a real nice close up image of this flower, and you made good use of the backlighting here. The dark vignetting helps to center the attention on the flower. I like the little bug too. Nicely done.

Definitely makes me smile - the light was worth the effort and I applaud your timing. The petals are creamy smooth and I can imagine how they would feel.

John: Daylilies are favorite subjects of mine and I have a bias toward wanting the anthers and pistil ends to be sharp which you achieved admirably here. The light is marvelous and the BG works very nicely. My only tiny <1¢ nit is the little bright green area in the extreme LLC. Subdue or make that go away and this gets an A++ instead of a mere A+. >=))>
Thank you for your comments. Regarding the green in the LLC. I had reduced it considerably. But, debated on getting rid of it completely. I think I should have.

This is a beautiful capture. Your image and its title makes it clear the light coming through the side of the flower is your subject. As I study the image, I find the bright spots of light on the top petal and left side petals pulling me eye away to those areas. Maybe try to lower the brightness there. It is a rare moment to catch the light illuminating the interior of the flower and the stamens!

Very well seen and beautifully executed, John. I love the lighting in this image and the technical aspects are perfect. I can see what Bill is talking about in that lower left corner, though it doesn’t bother me that much. I’d almost be tempted to pick up that green and put a very narrow (maybe 3 pixel) border on the image.
