The little grey fox

While we saw several of these small foxes at Channel Islands NP, never found one in a clean background.

What technical feedback would you like if any? Sharpness,

What artistic feedback would you like if any? Overall composition and color

Did clone out a grass stem in front of the fox.

Still, it is a very nice shot of the fox, John. Sometimes we just can’t get wildlife to see how important it is to pose in front of a nice background. Excellent detail in the fir.

I like this photograph, technically good, harmonious colours, good composition. However, the fox is staring intensely at something, and I would have liked to have it included in the photograph. Now it leaves me with a slightly puzzled feeling.
Maybe a wider aperture, if possible, would have deemphasized the background that you mention.
