Description

After spending most of the morning walking around Hammonasset Beach State Park, I found a group of Glossy Ibis in the back of the park. Luckily the angle of the sun worked for this two shots.
Thank you for stopping by.

how lucky you are to see these. Nice composition and excellent color and detail. Can’t decide which I like the best. We have them in Eastern Washington. I’d only seen a few

Beautiful, Peter. The light angle was just right. For some reason the body on the second image looks just slightly soft, but that first image is just wonderful with every bit of iridescence on display and nice eye contact to boot.

The first one just wins it for me too, Peter. I’ve seen this bird in Ireland, but we never got the sun to show off the wonderful colors which you show here. The pose looks very relaxed, and the colors of the environment set it off well also. Well done!

The first one wins on overall sharpness, but I like the pose better in the second image. Color is ideal and the surrounding parts of the frame go well with the ibis. Very nice indeed…Jim

Beautiful bird Peter. Amazing colors, I have seen these with this kind of color, but never noticed the green forehead. You did a nice job controlling the bright irridescence and the FG/BG.

Nice catches Peter. I prefer the first due to sharpness and better look at the eye. You really caught the colors very well of this beauty.

Hi David, Dennis, Mike, Jim, Ed & Allen.
Thank you for your comments. I am happy with this photographs, the number of times I have tried to get the coloring correct on Ibis and failed, did not leave a happy feeling.
Peter
