Balan: I’ve been missing you in our neighborhood so it’s great to have you back. The softness does catch my eye, especially around the head and proboscis. The capture looks good and some sharpening makes this better for me. The only other adjustment I would make is to eliminate that small piece of leaf where the stem emerges from the frame. Really nice comp on a good perch with a fine complementary BG. Keep 'em coming.>=))>
Balan, I have been missing you too, but I can’t say anything. I have been missing too. Just haven’t been having any macro-opportunities. I never did make it out to the Botanical Gardens this year even though I am a member. I agree with @Bill_Fach comments. I can’t think of anything that would improve the shot.
Hi Balan. Good to see you back again. I do notice a slight softness in this image, but our technology has come a long way since the 7D and I suspect that combination required manual focus with no fancy stuff like focus peaking available. The composition is superb. I actually like the partial leaf at the bottom.
Lovely capture! I wonder if today’s software could sharpen it a bit? (Lenses have improved, alone with software.) I agree about the stem at the bottom – I’d just prune that one cutoff “leaf” or maybe include more of the image if you have it. This could be a nice vertical, too.
Those welcoming you back must have missed your gorgeous egret, Balan. Great color contrast here. That has to be one of the most attractive Asian butterflies. And such a smooth background.
