Very sharp, stunning colors, and - no, I wouldn’t make it 50:50 with the BG. That would be a bit boring. The markings inside those circles almost look like the letters of a human language! The black is excellent to contrast with the colors - very good as is, Balan.

Hi Balan. You turned what looks to be a rather plain butterfly into something utterly gorgeous. Beautiful work, though that’s the strangest looking bamboo tree I’ve ever seen. As for the crop, I don’t think 50-50 would work but I do think it could use cropping from both sides. I took the liberty of downloading your image and this is the crop that worked for me. I was so close to a square when I got done that I went with that.

After looking at this, you might want to put a border around it to make it stand out from the dark view on the site a bit more.

Thanks Dennis …am still experimenting various crops

Balan, this is a real beauty, and you did a fine job capturing it. Nice details in the BF. It looks like light fall off on the very bottom tip of his wing. I feel like I am being nitpicky but if you can brighten that tiny area I think it will improve this lovely image even more. I like the crop @Dennis_Plank did.

Balan: Can’t tell the size of this critter but it is very much like the owl butterflies we have in our local pavilion which are almost the size of my hand. The details on this one are great. I do like the tighter crop that Dennis suggested. Nice capture of a beautiful visitor.>=))>

Balan, the butterfly is beautiful and it stands out very well against the darkness. I’ll be the odd person and say that I like the sense of space that your original gives and the 1/3rd, 2/3rd split of the background colors.
