This Stellar’s Jay obliged me with some posing in our backyard. They can be a little tricky to get because they usually don’t hold still very long. D500, Nikon 2-500 lens, Nikon 1.4 TC, tripod/gimbal head, 1/1000th, f 8.0, ISO 2000, 700mm, cropped to 2882 x 3343, AI Clear

Superb plumage detail and I love the pose, Dave. It looks like you did some cloning between the legs and missed a little along the bird’s right leg.

Nice image Dave - love the pose and the plumage. Dennis already mentioned the bits between the legs and I think a little eye clean up may help as well. Nice background.

Nope. No cloning between the legs. On looking at it closely, I wish I would’ve. Thanks for pointing that little phantom branch out.

Nice inquisitive pose with excellent feather detail. Consider cleaning up the catchlight? in the eye.
