I love how the right hummer is hanging on with only a single toe

Just back from 3 weeks in Japan - a couple more hummers to post, then I’ll start on the snow monkeys , sea eagles, and Japanese cranes

Oh wow - another amazing trio! Love the positioning of the birds all around the flower each with unique and intriguing poses. Great to get all the birds and flower sharp. Pleasing background.
Love seeing the subtle red eye of the lower bird. I was going to suggest brightening it but much more may look unnatural.
Terrific image.

Cool image, Sandy. I haven’t encountered that flower in Costa Rica, but I’ve only been there in February and April. Or was this Brazil?

The composition works beautifully.

Yes, Brazil! But I think they were in CR as well.

OMG! Are you sure you didn’t cut and paste these incredible birds with that incredible flower!

A fantastic image Sandy. It’s so vibrant and getting three birds and the flower in focus AND having a pleasing composition AND a lovely background.

No nits here.

Sandy: a wow image with all the birds and flower in sharp focus against a pleasing background. It’s hard to imagine a flower being more colorful than hummingbirds, but here’s the proof. Excellent use of flash.

@glennie , with a well-thought-out and perfectly set-up multi-flash, like the one provided by our excellent tour guide for Trogon Tours in Costa Rica and Brazil, (Javier Zurita) the flowers and birds coming in are usually in the same plane of focus for F13. You just have to be patient, take a lot of shots with your remote, and hope for good karma getting several birds at once in decent positions. REALLY, it’s more " luck " than any expertice I may have.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments - I love catching these guys in good poses, and might have 1 or 2 more hummer groups to edit.
Thanks, Allen, for the EP!

From winter to summer - enjoy!

Congrats on the EP. Well deserved. Absolutely beautiful. Colors are gorgeous and the composition is perfect. Along with a nice background. I could see this doing well in competitions. Definitely a wall hanger.

Sandy this is an avian party. All has been said I only want to say: a splendid photo also for me.
