Steve, I like the light branches emerging from the red foliage. When I zoom in, everything has a sort of mosaic quality. It’s unusual but it doesn’t bother me.
The light green foliage on the periphery is distracting to me. I’d suggest just cropping it out, more or less like this. Just a thought.
Steve, I like the top down perspective of the image and the lines of the branches set against the red foliage. I agree with Don on reducing the amount of green foliage around the edges. To me this image is about those red leaves and stark white branches so I would try to focus the composition around that.
