The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
This image was taken a few weeks ago in the Smoky Mountains. It rained the week before making this a rare opportunity to photograph this location with good water flow plus fall color.

Welcome back, Shawn. Great shot from this iconic spot. The colors are fantastic and I like the ss for the water. Maybe a few spots in the water are a little clipped, but no big deal. 20 years ago I took a workshop with Willard Clay and as soon as I stepped out of the van, walked a little down the road and shot this same composition. Then I climbed down the bank and stuck that big rock right in the FG. My only small nit regards the big rock. I think there should be a little more space between it and the bottom edge of the frame.
Nice composition. Good shutter speed to get the nice silky water effect. There seem to be a couple of hot spots as @Michael_Lowe pointed out. The other thing I would say is that it does have some heavy contrast that is blocking up the darks. I might go back to the RAW file and open up the shadows some. The only other thing that I wish was not there, is the thin tree on the left. I know short of having a chainsaw at the time (I am joking), there really is no way to have not gotten it in the composition. It just seems to block the view even though it really does not.
What a lovely stream and view Shawn. The fall color is a beautiful backdrop, and I love that little waterfall and the sweep of the stream as it flows through the image.
My first thought when opening this up was “Ooh, I wonder how this would have looked if the tripod had been on that foreground rock right in the face of that little waterfall??” I know that might not have worked (at that low angle, those green trees on the right might block the beautiful fall color behind), but I’m really curious if you played with that?
Welcome back, Shawn! What a great image to return with, too. The flow (no pun intended) through the image is perfect. I love how the foreground trees frame the scene, too. The warm/cool contrast of leaves to shadows works well, although I think the shadows - especially in the green foliage - could be slightly warmer. I also wish some of the highlights in the flowing water weren’t so bright. All minor nits, though. Look forward to seeing more of your work here!
Nice image. I was a Tremont in the spring. We had similar flow, but none of your beautiful Fall colors. It’s a great area to photograph in. There are so many potential compositions.
This is a beautiful image of this location. It looks like you timed the color better than I did. I was a bit too early for the peak color in this location. This is an iconic location and composition, but that’s not a reason not to shoot it. I like your rendition here.
Composition is really nice , all the different elements and colors leads your eyes back through the image very effectively. It is one of those images that you can scan through for a long time and discover new things in the image. My only critique might be that it would have been nice, if possible, to have a little space between the foreground rock and thee bottom of the image.
Wow, both versions are amazing. But for me, the energy of the one shot from the boulder compensates for the loss of some of the colors. Would a vertical or square crop would allow you to keep some of both?
