Gorgeous light. And what a beak! I hadn’t realize the proportions of it on this bird. Wow. The red eye is so dramatic. Background looks good if a tad dark, but that’s totally subjective. The reflection just adds to the appeal.

Excellent job on the exposure and plumage detail. I like the composition and in this case the squarish crop. I think you could actually increase the exposure on the water by half a stop.

I really like the dark bg and rippley reflection on this one Allen. Nice and sharp and well composed.

Another excellent image, Allen. I particularly like the way the dark green background sets off the heron. One of these years I need to get down there. No nits from me on this one.
