The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
This was taken a few years back on the road to Kantishna in Denali NP. It was early in September, and I was amazed at how fast the tundra had turned to these amazing colors that year.
Specific Feedback
I know the crop is probably not ideal with the sky being the same depth as the tundra. I do like the ominous stormy looking clouds in this. Any comments or suggestions are welcomed. My original rendition of this was a bit over saturated so I toned it down a bit. I decided to go back closer to my original rendition with a bit more saturation in the Repost. I recropped and straightened it with a CCR of 1 degree.
Technical Details
Canon Rebel XT, f8, 1/60s, iso 400, 26 mm. Topaz denoise and sharpen a bit.

Ed, this is a great photo. I agree that the crop is not ideal, perhaps 16 by 9 would work, with the bottom just below the yellow line of heath, including the little bit of red. I think the colour saturation due to the low sun is ok.
Hi Ed, Thanks for sharing this image of such a beautiful scene! I really like the colors you have captured and the feeling of autumn. For me the crop works fine, but I think it would be more effective if you worked on the leveling the horizon. The right side of the image is low causing the trees to feel out of vertical. With that niggle corrected you will have a really pleasing image. Well done!
@Rob_Sykes thank you for the suggested recrop. I didn’t quite go to the 16X9, but I did take a bit more off the top and added just a touch more to the bottom. @guy thanks for pointing out the need for the CCR. I hadn’t noticed that before. I went ahead and put it on the grid and tried to straighten it out a bit based on the trees.
Hi Ed,
The warm light is stunning and perfect for showcasing the autumn color of the tundra of Denali. I think your rework nails it IMO as the mountains are moved a little off center of the frame. I only have two tiny suggestions that I only noticed when looking at the large version. I only mention them because I think it would elevate an already outstanding image another notch. There are two white dots that I would remove that are left of the tall thin tree in the middle of the treeline. The other is touching up some repeating patterns along the bottom where you added some canvas. Beautifully done!
Thank you very much @Ed_Lowe. Retouched and reposted. I’d seen that white spot in the center of the photo. I’m not sure what exactly that was, but it was pretty shiny.
