Variegated Grasses

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This was taken at West Thumb Geyser Basin in Yellowstone NP. The day was overcast which tended to mute the colors of everything somewhat, but still the layers of color were apparent. The moisture droplets on the grass added just a bit of sparkle.

Specific Feedback

Any feedback is appreciated.

Chris, I wondered why the water appeared milky. Then I read your description. I find this a charming picture of something many people would overlook as just ordinary grass. Very nice. The foreground clumps make the composition work.

Love the colours here, and the milky geyser water.
Your website is excellent, with varied subjects ad treatments.
Where are you in Oregon? I’m in Brookings…

Chris: Marvelous color palette and just the right amount of FG water to set off the subject. Really well done. >=))>

Chris the fall grasses in Yellowstone always have a fine array of colors. You’ve done them justice here, by setting them off with the milky water and by picking a good change of colors in the grasses.

Thanks, Sandy. I am in Eugene.
