Wanderlust

I remember hurrying up the mountain in order to capture the alpenglow from this position. In the end, the composition was a bit rushed. But even though this image won’t make it into my portfolio, it definitely felt very special being there at that moment. For me that’s what matters most :grinning:

Technical Details

Is this a composite: Yes
3 exposure HDR @ 24mm | f16 | ISO 100
I created the HDR in Aurora HDR and did some final adjustments in Photoshop.

Martin, the sagging fence is a fine contrast to the distant peaks catching the sun. As is often true with automated HDR, I feel like contrast is lacking, especially in the distant mountains. Some local dodging and burning on those peaks would help that. The details and greens in the foreground look great. BTW, a 3 exposure HDR image is a composite.

True, the contrast is a bit lacking here but I didn’t want to “overdue” it and make it look more like an HDR. I did do some dodging and burning on the distant mountains, but found the transition to the trees in the midground very challenging. Guess I’ll have to work on my Photoshop skills some more
