Beautiful light, there Ben. I love it. Nicely framed composition, leads me into the scene on the center-right. Well done.

Love the luminosity Ben. I am definitely enjoying the warmth your image portrays.

I love how the composition leads into the depth of the woods. Great job. The lighting is marvelous.

The light certainly is the star of the show here. I especially like the hint of a shadow down along the right. It adds a touch of mystery. I find the greens a tad overwhelming though. I see that before I see the light, to be honest. The composition with the large trees is inviting.

Terrific composition Ben. Of course, this image is all about the light and it is wonderful. I just want to roam side to side an front to back. As chaotic as this is, this is such an inviting scene to want to explore. That dark tree trunk on the right was beautifully incorporated and nicely balances the image. Well done Ben.

Hi Ben! Great Name. This sure is a wonderful scene with the warm backlighting and all the layers that recede into the background. I really like the vivid greens, though they also show in the shadows quite a bit which presents an overall green colorcast. I’ve found that when there is a dominant color cast, it hides the subtle color contrast present in the scene, and that subtle color contrast is what’s responsible for added depth. I took your image into photoshop, and did a quick and simple adjustment to the curves. It seemed there was too much green and yellow, so I pulled the middle of the blue curve up significantly to reduce the yellow cast. To reduce the green cast that is present more in the shadows than the highlights, I grabbed the far left shadow end of the green curve and brought it over to the right a bit. This selectively reduces green in the shadows but has a minimal impact on the brighter areas. By doing this, it restored some color nuance to the trunk as well as the foliage throughout the scene. The image I’ve attached shows your original above the white light and the effect of this simple curves adjustment below the white light.

I have made a rework with the advice of @Ben_Horne whose work I appreciate .But lowered the opacity . So there isn’t that much blue in the leaves.
I am curious what your opinion is about some colorcast in an image. Which I think can also strengthen an image and I like in the original,
The Hue slider technique by @Tim_Parkin ( Tony Kuyper TK8 )is also good to use in this case.

Ben,

It’s all about the light. Light, for which you have become the master! Yes, I said that. It’s one thing to take advantage of light - it’s another thing to build your compositions around - and you do that masterfully.

I might not have picked up on the color cast, but I do like the end result of the tree trunks in Ben’s edit. I think I prefer your colors in your edit Ben, but would go further towards reducing the greens in the tree trunks to the more natural brown (although it’s understood there is reflected light striking the tree trunks.)

Getting pretty picky - but that’s what one does when trying to make a great image even better.

@Lon_Overacker , @Ben_Horne , In response to the advice from you both I made a second rework. I think it has improved my image even more. I hope to hear from you. Thank you so much.
