There were several color casts on the bird I had a hard time removing, so I ended up converting the bird to black and white and adding back the color in the beak. I hope this does justice to the actual look of the bird,.

In some ways this bird looks better in B&W than it’s natural colors, Allen. I like what you did to it. My only nit on this image is the near side of the branch in front of the tail. it looks like it was overexposed almost to the point of no detail, then burned down and it just doesn’t look natural. It might be a bit complicated, but I think you could steal some texture from the diagonal branch to add in and make it more natural looking.
This is a fun species to photograph. You got good detail on the body and head in the plumage. I like the pose. But I do agree with Dennis regarding the stick and the reflection on the stick. I don’t know what could be done to improve the image perhaps some noise and texture as a fill.
