I am not sure about the identity of this bird. Swift?

Adult male Purple Martin, Jim, and a fi e image of one. It’s difficult to get the plumage detail and color to show in these and you pulled it off nicely.

Three of our neighbors in Florida have established colonies of these wonderful flyers, so I see them lots. But never in such clear and colorful detail as you’ve managed Jim. Wow!

Amazing plumage detail on this Purple Martin. It almost looks like a different bird. I like the high key treatment.

Thanks for comment and ID. I am at Long Beach where I found several. Jim

Lots of people on the coast put up boxes or gourds for them, Jim. The western variety doesn’t seem to take to the big apartment buildings of the eastern, but they do like to have vey close neighbors. A group of 4 to 6 boxes on a single post or the same number of gourds works well. We’re nearly a mile from even a small river and have a thriving colony in a set of gourds.

Love the colors and texture on the bird and the high key look works well.
