White breasted nuthatch

Finally got some photos of the little nuthatch that I was happy with. Usually they are up in the trees or obscured by branches. Standing still for a while paid off

Nice detail and poses in all three.

Number two is facing the wrong way for a nuthatch; number three I’d remove the bg branch, so it’s number one for me! Just kidding, they’re all beauties. Do you always shoot Manual?

LOL. Thanks. Yes I always shoot manual; usually with ISO auto with a maximum ISO set t 1600.

Sometimes I set the ISO to manual if it is overexposing. I rarely go over 1600 as I find the e m43 sensor doesn’t cope well above that

Excellent catches! I love the softness of #3. Good thought from @Mike_Friel about #2! :>)

Thanks. Yes, in having another look that branch is a little distracting

Three dandy photos and you are right, they are hard to catch up to and in the open. I prefer 1 or 3 for the eye contact. And good suggestion to remove branch in #3. Very nice.

All three are well done images, Eddie. I’m partial to the first as most people seem to be, but number three is close and would be closer with the out of focus branch removed.

Nice, nice shooting angle, exposure and sharpness.
