I like the composition here. The living branches are nicely isolated and rise above the rest. If the bottom section permits the same isolation, you could extend it downward. The color looks a bit cool to my eye, but I wasn’t there. I mean the shading from the new needles to the older ones - new needles are generally a warmer, more yellow shade of green and these do the opposite. I think sliding the wb to a warmer temperature could fix this and the slight magenta cast I see in the dead tree trunks. Tangly, jangly goodness though. Quite an interesting place and I’m up for more shots from here.
This image is fine on a standalone basis, but in comparison to your other post from this same location, it is just not as strong. I think the concept of a splash of color on a an otherwise near B&W image is a strong one, but for my taste this one has too much green, I think the more minimal amount of green in the other image has more impact. And I think that in the other image, the interesting shapes and textures of the trees make a stronger statement. Just my $0.02. There is nothing bad about this post here, but the other image appeals to me more.
