Nice capture of the action here and good exposure on the whites. Of course the splash is very nice. Good feather detail. I think you could include more space above the pelican - I know that introduces more of the reeds but the extra space would help balance out the image and give some “breathing room” up top.
My thoughts too. I was pretty close to it for the shot and I did not have any extra room at the top. Dang it.
My thoughts echo Allen’s, Dave. Excellent job on the exposure and really cool action. If you’re using Photoshop, you could try some content-aware fill up top to see if you could extend the reeds a bit. It might or might not work-it can get really confused by some backgrounds.
