This is a shot I took this past week in the Ozark mountains while waiting on nesting eagles to return. I am looking up river in this photo. The White River is famous for its trout fishing thus you see a boat dock and a family fishing on the river.

I had my settings for flying eagles and decided to snap a few river scenes while I waited.
Took out some power lines and houses on the distant hill.
Quite serene, but also a little imposing. The dock and people give some scale here and that’s what does it. A very impressive bit of river. The white balance seems a bit cool to me and I bet if you messed with that and the color sliders, you could bring out the subtle oranges and yellows if you wanted to.
Hi Allen. I like the composition and the mist on the river really appeals to me.
This doesn’t really belong in Human and Fauna. This forum is for captive animals or animals interacting with humans or a human made environment. I think this would fit in Landscape as I believe they’re allowing a little bit of hand of man as long as it’s not key element of the image. Anyhow, I’ll try putting it there and see what their moderators say.
