We have a nearby lake that is home to 4 (store-bought) whooper swans which are the national bird of Finland, and the heaviest flying bird. This is one I caught backlit by yesterday’s morning sun. They were brought in to scare away the Canada geese which is crashing failure. They are still nice to have around, handsome birds that they are.

Hi Dave
The only thing I would try is, using a brush on the head and neck to match the back-lighting. The whites look good and the eye contact and beak coloring is vary nice.
