Seen one summer at a small lake in Alabama. This is a fairly large, showy dragonfly.

Canon 7D, 70-200 f2.8L IS II, 2X TC III, monopod
ISO 400, f11, 1/100s

Cloned out a stray leaf at the top of the image.

Excellent detail and I like the slightly angled composition, Allen. The plain gray background works well to show off the insect, but my eye yearns for a touch of structure in it.
