Nicely done, Allen. Interesting behavior and technically excellent.

Excellent detail as usual and nice to get it with its lunch. I don’t think this is a Semipalmated Plover. My first thought was a Killdeer, but it lacked the double black chest band. I checked this out in Merlin and it came up with Wilson’s Plover, which seems to fit the picture in Merlin. Never heard of them before. Maybe a new one for your life list!

It does look to be a Wilson’s Plover from web images, especially since EBird mentions that it is a crab-eater!
Excellent detail in this image, and great action.
I hope it is a lifer for you!

Thanks for the comments and the ID help! Yes looks like an adult male breeding Wilson’s Plover.

Hi Allen
What not to like, the Plover is sharp and it has a crab to snack on. Good low angle.
