Wilson's Warbler

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

On the same walk as my last post we were trying to spot this guy flitting around in a tree. Luckily we were on a steep slope and he was pretty close to eye level. This was the best shot I managed, but it’s the way we usually see them.

Specific Feedback

Even though the bird is pretty small in the frame, this is already a large crop, so I didn’t want to go any further. Also, I liked the bright background in this case and this crop isn’t too cluttered with stray elements (my taste). I am interested in how people feel about the partially obscuring leaf and the composition.

Hi Dennis, nice catch of this warbler in its environment. The leaf that partially covers the bird does not bother me much given this is an image that shows typical habitat. We can still see the face and body quite well.
