Woodland Light

This is late spring in a park near Olympia, Washington a few years ago. I went back to work on it again, after some lessons and inspiration from NPN over the last year.

At the risk of embarrassing myself, I hoped to convey some of my respect for the work of @Ben_van_der_Sande.

If you are trying for an homage to Ben, you need to include a haiku with your image

Dappled light can be very hard to do well, but Dick you have it pulled it off wonderfully here. I think the creative choice to go very dark on the tree trunks creates a graphic look that does a great job accentuating the backlit vegetation in the distance. I just love the sparkles of light scattered across the scene. Great work, Dick.

Thank you. The additional darkness I added toward the end, after trying it out “just to see”

Dick, @Dick_Knudson , you did succeed. I am very honored by your words. Thank you also for your positive critiques on my earlier images.
Since I am not too strong in giving critiques myself . I agree with @Ed_McGuirk in his comment on this image.
As Ed mentioned, I like sometimes to make a “haiku” at an image to show what I saw or felt when making it.

I tried a haiku once, but someone pointed out to me that it was a limerick

What is in a name. It’s nice to expresse your idea (feel) by an image.

OK folks, I appreciate Bert’s nudge to articulate feelings of seeing or making the image.

This is just lovely. So inviting to roam and enjoy. Haiku, Limerick… I’m not smart enough to know the difference, but this image is still lovely!
