Zebra Dove

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I recently spent some time in Kauai and had a fine time looking for birds to photograph. I managed this shot of a zebra dove near our cottage. I liked its pose and how it was rousing a little.

Specific Feedback

Cropping, and I’m wondering if the light areas across the top work. I didn’t really mind them so I didn’t mess with them. You?

Technical Details

Z9, 180-600 lens, monopod, f 9.0, 1260mm, ISO 3600, cropped to 2100 x 1537

Hi Dave
Thank you for the Zebra Dove. I would have liked to see the Dove a lowed in the frame, but that brings the sky into the pitcher. I am not sure that good this or a bad thing. Anyway I like the overall framing.
Peter

I like this composition, Dave. I particularly like the inclusion of the flower intruding from the upper right as it give the whole think a hint of the tropics.
