Zebra Tailed Lizard taking a walk at Saguaro National Park

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

These guys are very fast and this one decided to take a 30 second break on the walkway. Most of the ones we see are pretty small and out of site very fast. Hard to capture the tail cured up which is cool to see.

Specific Feedback

Was not sure about the brighter light on the walkway although this was late in the afternoon

That is one cool lizard. I especially love the green and white underneath - great for not being seen from below. Typically this is seen in arboreal species, but I don’t know about this one. Looks like it’s wicked fast on those feet though. Do you have any where it’s pointed more toward you? I find that helps pictures seem a little less static. Recently I photographed a duck and the most engaging shot is where she’s turned to me slightly rather than side on. The brighter patches are not too distracting and feel natural rather than overly darkened. I think you could easily go to a more panoramic crop if you wanted to get rid of them.

These guys are very fast and usually sit for a second. They are common and small.
