Image Description

As with most of my images, this one was found by accident. I was shooting a subject about a foot below this one and only saw this after having completed the other one. The other one turned out to be a throw away.

Specific Feedback

I’m not sure this one has much aesthetic appeal. However, conceptual, emotional, and technical feedback is welcome.

Are we going on a Crusade? I immediately saw the cross, or maybe it’s a sword. Perhaps both since they were interchangeable during the Crusades.

Yes to a cross. No to a crusade. Good guess though. A dark image for the Dark Ages. Something that occurred in that era.

What a neat find, Igor. Excellent detail, exposure and composition, with a little mystery too. Nice.

My first thought was a cross, then a mystery. . . .where are we going? Or where have we been. An adventure. The lighting is exquisite, as is the composition, Igor. A wonderful image to be lost in time and time again.

Thank you for your comments. This one didn’t strike a chord with people and I’m not surprised. BTW, the title refers to the Black Plague. The thought was the the public turned to Christianity as salvation from this peril. Some thought it was God’s punishment for their sins. I still haven’t printed this but I don’t think it will stand the test of time.
