A beautiful family

Re-work with more room to the top and right

The original image

Critique Style Requested: Standard

Description

I love the flowers of dhalia. When I took this photo, about fife years ago, this family was adorning the flowerbed of a garden not far from home.
I chose this photo while walking in my archive because I feel some emotion when I look at it.
This photo too has been processed lowering and raisind shades and lights without touching any color.

Specific Feedback

Do you prefer to see more of the stem and leaves?

Technical Details

D850, Nikkor 200mm macro - f/5,6, ISO 64, 1/20 sec - Although I used a 5,6 aperture with a 200mm lens almost all is in focus thanks to the sensor parallel to the flowers.

Gigi: Aptly titled and superbly rendered. I love the progression of the blooms and the lighting is masterful. Wonderfully crafted image.>=))>

Gigi, another truly stunning image!
I’m SO glad you’re digging up some of your older images - I remember your flowers, and they were unique and mesmerizing.
This is another stunner - very delicate, subdued colours, and dramatic BG. and lighting. I love the bit of OOF green leaf peeking through
My only possible suggestion would be to allow a bit more room on the top and right to not squish these amazing blooms

@Bill_Fach. Thanks Bill your comments are always gratifying.

@SandyR-B, you are absolutely right. I have tried to follow your suggestion giving more room to the top and right. Is the re-work right for you?

This is really nice, Giuseppe. I like the repost with a little more room. I don’t think bringing up the leaves and stem would add anything to the image, so I think I’d leave them as posted. I’m liking this new processing method you’re using-it’s creating some fine results.

Gigi - this looks perfect to me now.
However, it’s always what YOU think, as the artist. We all may have suggestions, but it’s the artist who must decide whether they are improvements, or if they go against what the original vision was.
Again - just stunning work!

Rework is perfect. The lighting is awesome and love the use of shadows in the comp. I like the transition from young to old from left to right. Excellent presentation…Jim
