A brief stopover

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I was at the Tucson Botanical Gardens next to a number of different flowers. I knew I would be about 3 or 4 feet and brought the telephoto lens. The phone app called this a blue banded bee, they are very fast hoping around the flowers, this one hung around a little longer than usual.

Specific Feedback

The DOF is very small, and I was not sure if the blurred flower takes away from this some. I also wondered if vignette would be good to use here.

Technical Details

Canon r7 rf 200-800mm at 354mm 1/2000 f/8 ISO 1600 HH The R7 was one continuous shooting, not the fastest.

The blurred flower doesn’t bother me, Dean. An interesting shot and it’s nice to see a new flower in the background. Have you figured out where they get the blue band? I love all these names that take examining a dead specimen to figure out.

Dean: Got a nice little :scream:-meter spike on this one. Incredible detail on the bee and I’m very OK with the OOF flower. Very nicely done.>=))>

Frozen in time ..thats a beauty ..and palette is so beautiful

Wow, Dean, this is amazingly sharp where it needs to be. The oof flower doesn’t bother me. I love the wing motion. Excellent shot!

Dean, the bee is nicely sharp. Love the details in it’s eye. That sharpness is all that matters, although the colorsin the flower and background add well to the view.

Sweet detail and pose on the bee, and the blurred flower actually enhances the image for me.
Congrats on a nice EP!

A good angle Dean and even the wings are stopped pretty well. Congrats!
