A child is born

Christmas is also the time for family affections. I like to imagine that flowers too have feelings, just as this mother buttercup towards her child.
Best wishes for Happy Holidays to all the members and in particular to the friends of many years.

Just lovely!

Don’t know how I missed this. Wonderful image. The detail in the petals and even the “hair” on the stems is amazing.

A little late, but I wish you and yours the best for the holidays and for the New Year.

I saw this yesterday and it gave me pause for thought which a good photo does. I generally liked the composition however you may consider tuning up the image. The title of the image mentions a child. A child in my mind suggests, brightness, energy, spirit, yet the front flower in the image has minimal lite/life/emotion. Technically its fine but you have given yourself liberty to add more color, vibrancy life, luminosity, lighting to the child image. Because your working with a 2d image, there could be more attention with sculpting the petals with dodge and burning, and with sharpness techniques. The eye should wander around the image, by using the amplitude of light and color, but currently its color pallet seems very tonally flat, homogeneous and in shadows. I also found the light on the lower stems pulling my eye out of the frame, it might be worthwhile to see what impact darkening does. The histogram on this image is in the lower zone 1,2 and not much outside of that. A lot of room for artistic expression. For inspiration consider, Nikon Ambassador, Vincent Versace, Flora gallery https://versacephotography.com/portfolio/flora/ . thanks for allowing me to critique. The overall esthetic for the image is very understated and technically pleasing, however perhaps the child needs to come out and play.
