A few 2024 favorites

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I didn’t get out much to do photography in 2024 and almost all of my photography was done close to home. Fortunately, I live in an area that offers many opportunities. I have chosen four of my favorites from nearby places.

These are wonderful, Chris! You posted the 2nd one this year, didn’t you? I’m glad you included it here! It’s worth a second (and third) look. The layers on your misty mountain photo are wonderful, as is the color.

@Bonnie_Lampley Thanks, Bonnie. I believe that I posted the golden reeds image earlier, but I added a little to the canvas on both sides. I just had it printed and it is being framed now. I wasn’t sure how it would print, but it turned out great.

All are wonderful but the reeds are special, and well-deserving of a print!

Hi Chris,
These are some beautiful images from 2024. Nothing wrong with shooting close to home as you can become more intimate with a certain location. Plus if you don’t quite get what you want you have the option of returning without a lot of hassle. BTW, my favorite is the mist and mountains as I love the pastels.

Chris, I’m a huge fan of exploring the details found close to home. These show off the benefits of intimate knowledge. All four are special in their own way. The high key snow is quietly inviting, the reeds glow well while the mist behind adds some great atmosphere. The pastels of the lake and mountain are very restful. The swirly log has all these eyes looking back at me…

@Mark_Seaver @Ed_Lowe @Diane_Miller Thank you for your comments. Happy Holidays!

Excellent work, Chris. I really like the Second and Fourth images in this series. The bit of mist/fog coming off the water really sets the second apart from the usual reed reflection image and the old driftwood has so much character that it’s impossible to resist.

@Dennis_Plank Thank you, Dennis.

You live in a candy store Chris; all of these are eye treats. I especially like the second and third images. Happy Holidays!

Chris, these are all really magnificent ! I especially love the reeds and the winter scene. You can keep the snow, though…

@Sandy_Richards-Brown Thank you. That wasn’t snow, it was solid white ice. It was beautiful, but caused so much damage. I’ll take some snow, though.

I should love to have a nearby like this Chris. Wow. A beautiful world !!

I love the artistry in your images, and this series in particular Chris. Beautiful, thoughtful work.

@Ben_van_der_Sande @Ed_Williams @John_Williams Thank you for your comments. I am blessed to live where I do.

I love the Black and White image of the Snow and Trees. You can feel the cold. Beautiful Tone and Lines.
