Critique Style Requested: Standard

Description

I have found this uncommon plant in a flower shop and I bought it. The streptocaptus has many names, we call it Africav violet. This type is called Streptocaptus dunni and comes from South Africa.
I took this photo with a good light in the back that made trasparent the flowers. Against the sun with my 200mm macro it was not difficult to find a dark stone in a stark shade behind them. In Photoshop I enhanced the black.

Specific Feedback

Any help to improve the photo is welcome

The dark background and stems that make it almost appear that the blooms are hanging in mid-air make this image for me, Giuseppe. The glow of the blossoms against the darkness works very well.

Gigi: This is beautiful. I love the colors and the lighting that brings them out. Just the right amount of room around the flowers. Great subject, marvelous capture. >=))>

Gigi, another gorgeous image. This is quite different than the plants we call “African” violets in the US - very beautiful. The dark BG is perfect here, and the flowers seeming to be suspended is another very strong aspect of this fine image.

Hi Gigi,

I like the minimal use of light in your comp. I find this one very pleasing as presented…Jim
