A new start in life

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Well, keeping with a warmer time, I thought I would post a series of just-hatched Piping Plovers photographs from Pat’s last vacation to Wells, Maine. I discovered The Wells National Research Reserve on the third day of that vacation. The photographs were taken outside the roped-off nesting area. Wells has a nine-foot tidal change, which allowed me to stand and photograph the chick coming down to the shoreline. In this series, I had to kneel down on the shoreline to get a reasonable angle to photograph this chick. June 23, 8 AM.
Thank you for stopping by.

I thought it was a little cold over there for hatchlings, Peter. All three are nice, but just to show that our “rules” are sometimes baloney, the third is my favorite even though it has no eye contact.

Peter, they are just so cute. You did a fine job capturing the behavior as they are starting out in life. Well done!

Nice low look at the chick, Peter. Good detail and environmental aspects. The third is my favorite for the pose and open mouth-too cute.

HI Dennis, Shirley & Allen
Thank you for your comments. Dennis, it is rather cold here today ( it has warmed up to 14), but the photograph was taken on June 23, 2023. I am going through my hard drive looking for photographs that remind me of a warmer time.
